A note along with lunch is a nice touch, but what about a note and no sandwich? This would be even worse if the note only confirmed that there was no food. Surely, the note should provide directions to food, or money for food. Is this kid supposed to sit down to lunch and then discover that their mom forgot? Ouch. Hopefully, this child already knew that their dad was going to the hospital, or else this note might have read a little differently.
