45 Dads Who Somehow Managed to Make 2020 a Much Better Year

45 Dads Who Somehow Managed to Make 2020 a Much Better Year

2020 was one of the most trying years in recent history, there’s no doubt about that. Luckily, many dads refused to take the year off, and their dedication was able to turn an otherwise crappy year into something much better. Dads have an almost unique ability to make the best of a terrible situation. Here are just a few of the many dads who somehow managed to make 2020 a much better year for us all.

Dads Are Always Early

Dads are worriers, and they don’t like waiting in line when they can be the first ones if they just show up a little early. Couple that with saving a few bucks and you might not be too surprised by this dad showing up to a blowout wedding dress event four hours early.

Dads Are Always Early

He wasn’t just four hours early, though, he showed up four hours early when that meant he needed to be there at 2:55 AM! Talk about a dedicated father!

Just Discovered Venmo

Venmo is a cool mobile money app, but when your dad first learns about it, something hilarious might happen. Like this post, for instance — when a guy’s dad decides to send him a Venmo request for tee-ball registration fees… from almost 20 years ago. Dads never forget, do they?

Just Discovered Venmo

We’re not sure if this dad was kidding or if he really wanted that $50 back, but we’re guessing it’s the former. He’s just trying to get in some laughs before 2020 ends.

Dads and Makeup

Dads usually aren’t experts on makeup, but if your daughter makes a living doing makeup videos on YouTube or something, you might make an attempt to learn some of the lingo. That can lead to some crazy texts, like this one, where a dad was practicing his smokey eye on a toy whale.

Dads and Makeup

It looks like he just found this whale with some discoloration around the eye, but this leads to some questions, like why on Earth was he shopping for toy whales in the first place?

Purpose of Ring Lights

This next dad of 2020 was delighted to find out exactly what ring lights are for. In case you don’t know, they’re used for lighting when it’s just one subject in a photo, so glamour shots, selfies, etc. This dad at first didn’t seem too clear, but he got the gist soon enough.

Purpose of Ring Lights

Drink of choice — Modelo, which is pretty classy for this dad. He honestly just looks thrilled that he doesn’t have to worry about uneven lighting for his selfies anymore.

Where Does Pooh Come From?

This next dad fell victim to a classic misunderstanding, but he was able to laugh at himself and make a funny tweet out of it. After all, “Pooh,” the stuffed bear from the Hundred Acre Wood, and “poo,” the waste byproduct of food, certainly sound the same.

Where Does Pooh Come From?

Hats off to the kid for listening to the whole thing and not laughing, though admittedly he seemed a little shocked at his father’s knowledge of the process.

Screenshot Screw Up

A common theme of a lot of online dad blunders is that dads either don’t know much about technology, or they just don’t care to learn. This is usually true of older dads at the tail-end of Gen X or even Baby Boomers.

Screenshot Screw Up

This has to be one of those dads, who messed up a screenshot. The funniest thing about this is that he clearly saw the volume screen there, but decided to just send it anyway.

Mom’s New Mask

While masks are annoying and cumbersome, they’ve become a staple of fashion in 2020. Some people have decided to try and have some fun with it, as seen by novelty masks you can now buy. This dad bought his wife a gift, and instead of using a picture of her own face, decided to use a picture of his.

Mom’s New Mask

It’s pretty incredible how real this looks and how it kind of fits her face and hair. If you saw her on the street like this, you might not even look twice!

Dad Labeled His Phone

iPhones are confusing these days since there’s no real button to show you how to orient them. This dad seems to have been plagued by grabbing his phone upside down to the point where he dug out his trusty label-maker and put this handy sticker on his phone.

Dad Labeled His Phone

Of course, this is an older model iPhone so there’s a button, but in this dad’s defense, it’s black and it blends in all too well. And it’s not like the label is taking up any screen space.

Bought Some Huge Lamps

If you don’t read product descriptions carefully, you can be unpleasantly surprised by some of the things Amazon will send you in the mail. This dad learned that the hard way when he ordered some lamps he probably planned to put in his living room.

Bought Some Huge Lamps

Of course, these monstrosities aren’t going on any end tables, but we wonder whether he’s going to keep them just for the conversation value.

Talking to Himself

Facebook and other social media platforms can be confusing, especially for people from older generations. Even so, we’re not sure why this next dad even thought to have a conversation with himself like some sort of Smeagol/Gollum thing. Maybe he was up so early he forgot it was he who wrote the first post?

Talking to Himself

Maybe he felt bad because there weren’t any comments on his post and he just wanted to get one, so he made it himself. Of course, that doesn’t explain why he took the angle of talking to himself in the second person.

Epic Dad Puns

This next dad was put in charge of his local neighborhood’s sign, where people usually put up brief announcements for the area. Instead, in the midst of a global pandemic, he decided to use it as a way to bring a little laugh to passersby and changed up the dad jokes on them regularly.

Epic Dad Puns

While these are some great dad jokes, the best one is probably the Amazon one because you have to put a little thought in to actually get it. This guy made 2020 a little more bearable.

Dad Discovers AR

At first, this dad’s daughter thought he discovered Photoshop and was photoshopping random farm animals on their lawn, but she then finds out that it’s just an AR app on his phone. Stuck at home during quarantine, he’s making the best of it by discovering the joys of AR.

Dad Discovers AR

His accompanying texts are pretty funny, too, just matter-of-factly informing his daughter that there’s a horse on the lawn, then a goat. Just another day during quarantine.

Dad Panoramic Picture

We have to admit, we don’t really understand panoramic pictures either, so we kind of sympathize with this next dad. He was probably just trying to take a picture of his daughter. He most likely accidentally swiped from “photo” to “panorama” on the bottom of his phone.

Dad Panoramic Picture

We can see that you’re not supposed to take panoramic pictures of people, so hopefully, this father learned that lesson from this experience at least.

The Old Switcharoo

This next one is a new twist on a classic dad joke whereby the dad repackages something as its more expensive synonym. Here, he gifted a Nintendo Switch, which was tough to find all year long. Of course, that didn’t stop this dad from having some fun, just by labeling a common house switch.

The Old Switcharoo

We’re hoping he pulled through and got an actual video game console after having his little joke. He’d be pretty savage if he didn’t!

Dad Joke Alert

Nobody’s immune to dad jokes, even if the dad in question is a complete stranger. This next dad broke the potential awkwardness of a cart exchange by mentioning that he left some gas in the cart for the next person. We don’t think we need to explain the joke.

Dad Joke Alert

We’re not sure this should be considered a “killer” dad joke — it’s pretty tame actually, and we’re also not sure this dad should be out of control either. But, when you’ve been stuck in quarantine for weeks, maybe your crazy threshold is lower.

Did Dad Have a Stroke?

It can be easy to accidentally tap the button for a voice recording, as this next dad painfully found out. You can imagine him frantically tapping buttons and shouting to his wife for help, and Siri dutifully copies down every word. He eventually just gives up and the fateful text sends.

Did Dad Have a Stroke?

Nothing like a little text message fun to break the doldrums of quarantine day after day. This dad probably made his kid’s day with this text and in 2020, that’s a nice gift.

Gross Group Chat

Lots of families have group chats where they can have the next-best-thing to daily contact with their kids and parents. This dad seems to have taken that in an awkward direction due to how he refers to his children.

Gross Group Chat

Dads often find awkward exchanges hilarious, so this shouldn’t really be a surprise. He was probably just trying to brighten his kids’ days with a laugh.

My Dad Never Emails

While some dads have a pretty solid mastery of technology, some dads avoid it like the plague (like the next one on our list). According to his daughter, he doesn’t text and doesn’t even have a smartphone, but that didn’t stop him from sitting down at his computer and typing out this email of something fun he saw that day at South College.

My Dad Never Emails

It apparently doesn’t take much to impress this father, who felt it necessary to send an email after spotting a dog carrying its owner’s umbrella.

Mayor of the Village

Along with the same topic of dads sending random messages about everyday things, this next dad had some pictures of his cat as mayor of their Christmas village. On a separate note, that cat really blends in well with the cottony snow.

Mayor of the Village

Dads really do love their pets, and with a socially distanced Thanksgiving in the books, he was probably feeling a little bored and ready to be entertained by anything.

I Got a Bee Suit

Amazon can get you pretty much anything, and this dad, who doesn’t show any sign of actually owning bees, used it to find a fully functioning beekeeper suit. Possibly the best part of this text exchange, however, isn’t really the picture in the suit — it’s this dad’s comeback.

I Got a Bee Suit

This dad is obviously a master of the dad joke since he’s able to throw in a great pun as well as an awesome comeback. He’s a true legend.

My Dad, the Fire Guy

This girl’s dad could have freaked out about a flaming toaster, but he seems to be pretty low-key, judging by this story from Barb. While she was in the kitchen fighting to put out a flaming toaster, he pretty much just watched her struggle, even when she ran outside and almost set the yard on fire.

My Dad, the Fire Guy

Finally, the icing on the cake comes when he simply asks her what she was cooking, instead of maybe asking if she was ok or commending her for acting courageously under pressure.

The Cat and the Christmas Tree

Years of fighting with their cat probably led this dad to build an elaborate cage structure to keep the cat out of the tree. We’re imagining years of scenes like the classic squirrel scene out of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, except instead of a squirrel jumping out of the tree, it was the cat.

The Cat and the Christmas Tree

This cage would also probably do well at keeping toddlers away from the tree, but we’re wondering whether he takes it down on Christmas morning for the presents, or if the presents are just stacked up outside the cage.

3D Printer Fun

Another classic dad joke alert, this one made possible by the magic of 3D printing. Hopefully, this dad sent in two samples, one for a joke and one for his actual health screening. That being said, that stool is really well-made and we might just have to go out and pick up a 3D printer ourselves.

3D Printer Fun

If the lab tech receiving this happened to be a dad, he probably got a good little laugh out of the pun, too.

Napping Art Assignment

This next post went viral this year, when a tired medical worker needed a nap after a 12-hour shift. His wife had to leave the house, and since he had to watch the kids at home, he needed to come up with a solution. Being a dad, he was able to come up with a creative one.

Napping Art Assignment

He told his kids their art assignment was to draw a portrait of him napping, so he was able to both keep them occupied and catch up on some z’s.

Classic Dad Outfits

A trend that started happening on social media this year was new dads purchasing and wearing a classic dad outfit on the way home from the hospital. This next dad epitomized the look of your friendly neighborhood father, complete with crew socks, blinding-white sneakers, and a tucked in polo.

Classic Dad Outfits

His dedication to the look is a lesson to us all to go all-in on whatever we’re doing. He’s pulling off the look flawlessly and so did many other new dads in 2020.

Cookies for Essential Workers

Not so much funny as inspiring, these dads were able to bring a brief respite to essential workers who still had to go into work during the craziness of 2020. Scott McKenzie and Jeremy Uhrich, two dads in Pennsylvania, had a friendly bake-off to see who could make the best cookies while they were stuck at home.

Cookies for Essential Workers?

When they delivered the fruits of their labor to local essential workers, they decided to start a Facebook group for delivering cookies around the country, and it quickly blossomed into an inspiring baked-goods movement to show appreciation.

My Dad’s a Mermaid

A great thing about dads is that they’re not afraid to laugh at themselves, and they’re not ashamed of their dad bods either. This next dad decided to put it on full display by staging a magical mermaid photo shoot with his daughter.

My Dad’s a Mermaid

While we’re impressed by how well he wears those clamshells, we’re not sure how enchanted we’d be if a mermaid looking like this jumped out of the ocean.

Only Dad at Work

The office was probably empty for a lot of companies this year, but instead of letting it get him down, this dad decided to have a little fun and make it seem like he had cloned himself a few times. The result is a hilarious mashup that at first seems like a totally staged office photo until you look a little closer.

Only Dad at Work

We’re actually pretty impressed with this dad’s Photoshop abilities, as dads are known for being hilariously inept with technology sometimes. Not this guy, though!

Dad Critiques Daughter’s Restaurant

There were quite a few bored dads hanging out at home this year, so this guy decided to review his daughter’s make-believe restaurant set up. It created quite a stir when it was first posted and even went viral, probably because it’s wildly hilarious that he gave her a semi-serious review.

Dad Critiques Daughter’s Restaurant

Sounds like his daughter wasn’t doing too poor of a job, but she needs to work on the customer service since she took a 20-minute break in the middle of cooking her dad’s dinner. Gotta work on that!

Censored Son’s Face

This next dad was super proud to become a new father, so understandably, he wanted to plaster pictures all over his Facebook page. Also understandably, his wife didn’t want her son’s face plastered all over social media, so she told her husband he’d need to censor their baby’s face.

Censored Son’s Face

What started out as a nice, heartfelt photo quickly took a dad-like turn into hilarious, as this dad decided to use the most absurd effects ever. He probably won’t be doing that again!

Creepy Doll Pranks

Dads can be great pranksters, as this dad showed when his daughter purchased a fixer-upper house to remodel. She found this very creepy doll somewhere in the house and promptly threw it in the trash (where it belongs, though we wouldn’t have blamed her for burning it either).

Creepy Doll Pranks

Her dad was able to rescue the doll and took it upon himself to scare the living you-know-what out of his daughter. Dads — can’t live with them, can’t live without them!

Stop Your Dog!

When their kids go off to college, dads are often stuck taking care of the kid’s dog until they come home. This dad decided to have some fun with his child by texting him about the dog digging holes in the backyard. He then sent this photo, that shows the dog operating a backhoe with total poise.

Stop Your Dog!

We have to say, getting that dog to be able to operate heavy machinery is pretty good training indeed! Give us the name of whoever did that training, please!

Late to Practice

There are a lot of twists in this short tweet, so let’s start unpacking. A coach making a kid run laps for being late to practice is nothing new. Farther on, it’s pretty impressive that this dad was able to treat his son like any other kid for being late.

Late to Practice

However, when we find out that dad was the one driving the car, we can’t help but think maybe he should have been out there running laps as well?

Outstanding in His Field

Dad jokes are usually short, silly, and very punny. This one doesn’t fail to disappoint, as this dad took time out from his day to stage a different take on the standard phrase “outstanding in your field,” which usually refers to someone who’s an expert in a particular subject.

Outstanding in His Field

This dad found a field to go stand in, took a picture, and then texted it. That’s some dedication to the art of the dad joke right there.

Mom Finished Body-Building

Another excellent example of a well-executed dad joke is this next joke, which is a funny way to announce the birth of a daughter. There are a couple more dads who decide to weigh in with their own attempts at dad jokes, though they’re not nearly as good.

Mom Finished Body-Building

To be fair, his wife was doing some incredible work literally building a body. This could also be a way of saying that she had put on some weight… but we’d prefer to think he wasn’t trying to be mean.

Baby Crime Scene

Dads who are home alone with the kids can lead to some trouble, as we’ll see in this next photo. The first time his mom left him at home with dad, this little guy must have gotten really tuckered out from all the excitement. Dad wasn’t completely done with his fun, however, so he did up a little crime scene.

Baby Crime Scene

Here we have the whole thing, as this dad really pulled out all the stops. We wonder if he just left the baby sleeping there for his wife to find.

Old Baby Photos

Being stuck at home also gave a lot of people the chance to go through old photos and keepsakes, as seen in this next photo. For some reason, they used to have a raccoon in the house, but obviously, this dad couldn’t pass up the opportunity for some good-old-fashioned teasing.

Old Baby Photos

Hopefully, his kid wasn’t too offended by his tongue-in-cheek text, but we have to say, this one was pretty good.

Cemetery Test Run

We can see that this dad got a kick out of his own joke just as much as we did. While some of you may be wondering why an individual would make such a joke, we can’t help but burst into hysterics.

Cemetery Test Run

From the sounds of it, this man has quite a dark sense of humor, which we’re totally on board with. Laughter is the best medicine, after all.

Halloween Feet-loaf

With some time on their hands, many dads in 2020 decided to try new skills they could do from home. This dad didn’t waste any time around Halloween, choosing to test his culinary aptitude by whipping up a batch of “feetloaf,” a spooky take on an American classic.

Halloween Feet-loaf

We’re pretty impressed with his skills, and now we want to try and make this dish next year for Halloween as well.

Lazy Dad Setup

One has to wonder whether this dad is extremely lazy or clever. Everything around him seems so comfy that it makes no sense to ever leave this spot.

Lazy Dad Setup

And can we talk about how cute the mouse pad is?! It seems like the dog doesn’t mind how he’s being used as long as he’s sitting comfily beside his daddio.

Classic Dad Joke Alert

We still cannot fathom why dads are so dramatic when it comes to staying out late. This dad sure knows how to reprimand his kid when she’s not home all day. This dad’s humor is on a different level, playing the role of a hotel manager.

Classic Dad Joke Alert

The hotel manager was still kind enough to offer his daughter a meal. After all, it does sound like a pretty nice dining lounge — especially considering that guests eat for free, or at least this gal does.

I’ll Have a Pint

Oh, the sheer innovation! This dad is totally rocking his ‘pint’ socks and strappy sandals. Anyone can bet he chose this pair of sandals just to proudly show off his socks.

I’ll Have a Pint

Wearing this and standing in a queue takes strength and courage — it shows his sense of humor. Who knows? Maybe he even managed to get a free pint that day after sporting these socks around in public. Cheers, mate!

An Undeniable Bond

This nice meme is based on a possibly relevant tale about the affection that can only transpire between a dog and a father who previously swore he didn’t want a dog. It is so common to see how fast a dad connects to a pet they never wanted and simply takes care of it more than their own child.

An Undeniable Bond

This funny yet wholesome meme just shows how much dad is concerned about the dog falling sick due to a cold. Well, nothing warms up and makes the dog’s fur shiny and silky like a hairdryer.

Impromptu Photoshoot

Who needs pictures of beautiful mountains, a lake, or even people when the dog is there to pose? No view of nature could steal the love this dad has for his four-legged best friend.

Impromptu Photoshoot

Still, taking roughly 500 pictures of just the dog alone is insanity, but let’s give this dad a break. He just really loves his pal, and we’re not here to judge.

Dog Dad

Shouldn’t these t-shirts be the trendy wear of the year? A bond between a man and his dog cannot just be shown by the treatment the pet receives, after all. It has to be properly showcased using custom-made t-shirts featuring their faces.

Dog Dad

With these matching tees, they have firmly stated that they’re meant for each other. Just look at the smile on this guy’s face — he’s beaming with pride!

The Super Cop Dad

This conversation seems like it came straight out of a script of a Hollywood movie. Who forgets to inform their kids about such an enormous life event? Their dad was a cop, and he was run over by a bus? How in the world did he survive unscathed?

The Super Cop Dad

This super-dad had a pretty adventurous — not to mention, dangerous — lifestyle back in the day. Naturally, his daughter was incredibly surprised to learn these details because to her, he’s just Dad.

Owe No Penny to This Dad!

This dad was owed $500. So, he took the borrower’s car. Would each part add up to a dollar? We mean, that’s a pretty cheap car in this day and age — dirt cheap, in fact.

Owe No Penny to This Dad!

This dad definitely doesn’t understand the concept of “tit for tat.” As fierce as he could be, his level of humor has won him the Funniest Dad of the Year award. The owner literally did not see that one coming.

Mystery

Usually, dad tales go a little something like this, “We used to sneak out of the house in the middle of the night” or “We skipped school and played hooky all the time.” But, working for NASA or even taking a picture of Nelson Mandela is not something you would expect to hear from your own father.

Mystery

This dad has surely experienced life enough to get this sarcastic and know how to mess with their kids. We wonder what other stories he has up his sleeve.

Thrown Into Garbage

Old family secrets can be extremely surprising once, and if, you ever learn about them. This Twitter user’s dad dropped a major bomb on his son when he was least expecting it.

Thrown Into Garbage

Papa bear here revealed that his mom — the OP’s grandmother — attempted to neglect her infant child. It’s a good thing that her guilt urged her to come back, but sheesh. That’s pretty messed up, in all honesty.

Grand Reveal

You’re sitting at home one night, craving something yummy. So, you ask your dad to go out and grab some dinner for the family. Little do you know that your dad is bringing home the surprise of all surprises.

Grand Reveal

Instead of bringing home food like he was meant to, this Twitter user’s father returned with a grown man. It was revealed that this 28-year-old stranger is actually @MeloodyLoouise’s brother. We can assume that she was pretty shell-shocked after hearing this news — and perhaps a little ‘hangry’ due to the lack of food…

Say What?

If you ever had a pet or have one currently, then you understand the kind of love that other pet owners feel every day. Still, when we think of pets, cats and dogs are the first things to pop up in our mind — not for this dad, though.

Say What?

In what can be considered a cool story of the past — or perhaps a crazy one — this dad revealed that he had a pet hyena when he was a kid. Imagine what it’s like to hear a hyena laugh in the middle of the night while you’re sleeping!

The Truth Always Comes Out

We don’t know why, but dads seem to love dropping truth bombs at the most random of times — they might just get a kick out of it, or perhaps they do it accidentally. When driving his daughter to college, they passed the hospital where Sara was conceived.

The Truth Always Comes Out

Confused by his remark, Sara asked her dad to clarify what he meant. It turns out that she was an IVF, or test tube, baby. While there’s certainly nothing wrong with that, we’re sure it came as a shock to this Twitter user.

No Small Amount

It’s always a fun experience when you find out you have an estranged older sibling. Another addition to the family, yay! This mom asked her husband to co-sign on a new car that she wanted. After they reached the dealership, the Twitter user’s mom found out a game-changing detail.

No Small Amount

Her hubby revealed that he owed $40,000 in child support to his estranged daughter — @hazelvulturez’s older sister. Hmmm, you’d think he might have mentioned this “minor” detail when his wife initially asked him to co-sign.

Modesty Is Key

Dads seem to hide a lot of things about their pasts, either because they don’t want to bring it up or they might have forgotten about it. This one probably falls under the latter, as this kid found her dad’s old Olympic ID when cleaning out the basement.

Modesty Is Key

That’s when her father casually mentioned that he ran track in the Olympic games. Now, that’s what we call modesty. Despite the fact that he accomplished something of that magnitude, he doesn’t even brag about it. Still, we can only assume that this OP boasted about it to her friends… after she boasted about it on Twitter, of course.

Grew Them Myself

Have you ever seen a sweet potato that’s the size of a pumpkin? No? Then you might be interested in talking to this OP’s dad. He seems extremely invested in his garden. Just take a look at these sweet potatoes, for instance.

Grew Them Myself

Not only were they freshly grown at home, but they’re also quite large. They even added a can of Coke to show how much larger the potatoes are in comparison. We don’t know how he did it, but it seems that farmers should start hiring this guy.

An Abomination

Everyone knows that burgers are meant to be eaten with your hands — and anyone that says otherwise might just be evil then. This is truly an abomination to the burger community.

An Abomination

This dad decided he wanted to ruin his son’s day by eating a burger the wrong way. He ate it upside down, but the real kicker is that he used chopsticks instead of his hands. We don’t know if he truly thinks that’s the right way to eat a burger or if he’s just trying to piss off the internet.

Classic Charcoal Pancake

If it took you a long time to see what it’s in the pan, we can’t really blame you because we went through the same trouble. This son posted a picture of his father’s pancake — but it was burnt so badly that it blended in with the pan.

Classic Charcoal Pancake

We’re not sure if it’s still edible, but we can assume that there are people out there who wouldn’t mind eating this pancake even so. Who doesn’t like the taste of fresh charcoal in the morning?

Costume Parade

This is a dad who likes to have fun because he showed up at his kid’s school dressed up in a green dinosaur costume. Granted, it was for a costume parade but we have a feeling that this daddio misunderstood who would actually be wearing the costumes — the students!

Costume Parade

It probably gave the other parents a good laugh before the actual parade started. We don’t know about you, but we’re feeling inspired to do this to our own children one day.

Reminiscent

Not a lot of us remember Crystal Pepsi when it was first released back in 1993. However, when the legendary Crystal Pepsi returned in 2017, the people that did recognize the product probably felt extremely reminiscent of the past.

Reminiscent

However, as it turns out, some people wanted to keep their memories locked up and safe. This dad decided that he would keep a bottle of Crystal Pepsi chilled in his fridge. Maybe he wants to hold onto the gem in case it gets discontinued again.

What to “Think”

Some of you may be familiar with the animated superhero show, Invincible. It has gotten quite popular and has made way for some of the funniest memes ever.

What to “Think”

Since the kid is named Mark — which is the same name as the main character in the animated series — the dad told him to “think” in reference to a scene in the show. While a lot of people might be unfamiliar with the reference, those of us who do know the show might find this amusing.

Pizza, Pizza!

There are a lot of people with quite a unique taste when it comes to fashion. There are also some designers with a “unique” way of expressing their sense of fashion.

Pizza, Pizza!

Dads often tend to buy the most hilarious things that others might not consider cool, but they wear them proudly. As you can see here, the dad got himself a pair of pepperoni pants. Well, it might not sound that bad when you think about it — until you realize that the pockets of your pepperoni pants actually feature a face.

I’m Not Crying, You’re Crying

We’ve all experienced heartbreak at some point in our lives. This girl was going through a breakup and, naturally, she needed to process it all. So, she sat in her room for hours, listening to music and crying over the one that got away.

I’m Not Crying, You’re Crying

Rather than consoling his heartbroken daughter, though, this papa bear decided to call her out instead. According to dad, the little dude that broke his daughter’s heart is too ugly to cry over anyway.

I’m Adopted?

Dads can be such pranksters, especially when it comes to their jokes. However, since they are still a parent who loves their child, it’s not uncommon for them to feel guilty about a joke they just made at the expense of their children.

I’m Adopted?

For example, this dad essentially alluded to the fact his kid was adopted at birth. After not getting a response, papa bear here feared that he might have really upset his kid and so, he apologized — sort of.

Crime Dramas

Everyone loves crime dramas — the suspense; the thrill; the curiosity and desire to discover who the real culprit is. This dad here seems to love crime dramas, so much so that he knows what to tell his daughter in order to avoid getting caught.

Crime Dramas

The daughter accidentally messaged her father something she meant for someone else. It was about her wanting to punch someone in the eye… with a fork. The funniest part is that the father didn’t even question her. All he told her was to wear gloves as to not leave any fingerprints behind.

Don’t Copy Me, Dad!

Dad jokes are the best, solely because they can be so lame. This dad thought it would be an amazing idea to joke with his daughter by mocking her.

Don’t Copy Me, Dad!

You can already tell that this conversation is going nowhere just from the dad’s first response, “When you get here.” At some point, Carolyn decided to join in to get back at her father but all he did was create a hashtag, #daughterjokes — a play on #dadjokes.

Stop Lying, Son

It’s not uncommon for some kids to hide report cards from their parents — especially from Dad. This kid right here did just that, and claimed that his friends stole his report card.

Stop Lying, Son

Expecting to get a lecture in return, the son was completely blindsided when his dad told him to stop lying about having friends. Boom, roasted!

That Inappropriate Text

There are people who always blurt out much more than necessary when explaining themselves or getting their point across. This guy was messaging his dad to ask him if he could help fix his truck.

That Inappropriate Text

When his dad replied, he was a bit shocked to receive the text that he did. When he asked his dad to stop sharing so much unnecessary information with him, daddio realized the confusion and corrected himself. He was talking about his mother’s vacuum! Thank goodness…

Trying to Purchase Her Pads

It can be quite awkward for men to purchase menstrual products for their daughters or wife. This dad was tasked with buying pads for his daughter. He began feeling uneasy when a woman stared him down in the aisle.

Trying to Purchase Her Pads

He messaged his daughter asking her which one she needed. When she told him, he was scared he might have had to start smelling all of the packages in order to figure out which are scented and unscented. Luckily, the labeling on the package gives it away…

That’s How Dad Rolls!

As we’ve said before, dad humor can often be lame. This is what makes these jokes that much more amusing. This father was messaging his kid, explaining how he usually does his squat routine. At some point, though, the routine seems to go haywire when Dad puts his arms around his knees and leans forward.

That’s How Dad Rolls!

Of course, anyone would be confused seeing that message without any context, just as the kid here was. It turns out, that’s just the way this daddio rolls.

Epic Karma Birthday Card

Dads have very long memories, as proven by this next guy and his decades-long commitment to justice. His son gave him a cheeky card for his 42nd birthday and, instead of tossing it, he saved it until his son turned 42 and he could return the favor.

Epic Karma Birthday Card

The most impressive part of this impressive display of poetic justice was the fact that this dad was able to remember he had this card for years, and he pulled it off even after years gone by.

Money for Taco

This dad made 2020 a little better by making sure his fur-grandchild was taken care of while in quarantine. He regularly sent his kid’s dog, Taco, money in the mail, this particular payment earmarked for chicken nuggets.

Money for Taco

What a great grand-dad, making sure Taco was taken care of! Usually, grandmas are known for treats, but this grandpa is making sure he’s the fun one and that Taco is taken care of.

Studying for Risk

Board games made a comeback this year, as bored people stuck at home looked around for something fun to occupy their time with. After being challenged to a game of Risk, this dad spent some time boning up on his military strategy.

Studying for Risk

After finishing the sports section, this dad was dedicated to victory and printed out a map of the Risk world as well as a list of strategies for winning. We admire his dedication!

Yosemite Photo Bomb

Many Americans also got re-acquainted with the great outdoors this year when indoor activities were closed, but this dad didn’t miss the opportunity to take a classic photo. This picture was taken at a waterfall in Yosemite National Park. That’s quite the stream he’s got going there!

We’re sure if you poke around on the internet, you can find plenty of other pictures of dads taking funny pictures at well-known monuments this year. What else was there to do this year?

Zoom Class Payback

Remote learning and working from home collided in some hilarious (and not so hilarious) ways this year, as limits on bandwidth and constant interruptions from kids and parents led to some embarrassing moments. This dad had enough of his kids interrupting his work meetings, so he decided to get even.

Zoom Class Payback

He dressed up in a gillie suit and looked like some sort of swamp monster out to make a cameo during his kids’ Zoom classes. Probably gave the teacher quite a scare!
