Clean Out Your Gutters
Cleaning out the gutters is definitely not a glamorous house task! You normally need a wide variety of tools, which can make the whole ordeal even more unpleasant. With that being said, it is necessary, so why not make the job easier for yourself?
You can use PVC pipe to create a gutter cleaner without the hassle of using a ladder. Connect the pipe to create a pole long enough to reach your gutters. Simply use the pipes to push dirt and grime from the gutters.
Create a Vacuum Attachment Holder
Just about every household uses a vacuum to keep their floors clean. While the tool is extremely helpful, it can be bothersome to store. Not only is the vacuum itself bulky, but it also comes with a variety of attachments.
Instead of losing these parts, create your very own attachment holder using only PVC pipe heads. Connect a few heads of the right size, and your attachments can be inserted right on top. This is a simple way to keep your home organized.
A Simple Clothing Rack
PVC pipe can be used to create a simple yet completely functional clothing rack. If you struggle with wet clothing after spending time in the garden, especially during the winter months, a clothing rack is exactly what you need.
You only have to make one cut for this one! Place a PVC pipe in a stand and attach some wires to the other end using tape. You can then place your gloves or mittens on top for improved ventilation.
Create Some New Decorations For Your Fish Bowl
Wanting to add some new designs to your fish bowl or aquarium? There are a lot of fun things that you can make with just PVC pipe. You could even give your fish some obstacles to play in and swim through. Such fun!
Just cut the PVC pipe to a size that fits in the fish tank and that your fish will be able to swim through. You don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on expensive ceramic decorations – trust us, your fish won’t know the difference!
Create a Plastic Bag Dispenser
Don’t know where to store your excessive collection of plastic bags? Instead of shoving them into a cupboard, create your own plastic bag dispenser from PVC pipes. This will make things much more organized and practical.
Cut a circle into the bottom of a pipe – simply stuff your bags inside, and you will be able to remove them from this opening. Finally, screw the pipe onto a wall in your kitchen, garden, or wherever you need it!
Hammer Holster for Your Tool Belt
The hammer is arguably the most important tool in any household. For this reason, it only makes sense that it has its own special holster on your tool belt, as it can be extremely inconvenient to carry around separately.
With a PVC pipe (roughly 15cm), make two cuts at one end for your belt to thread through. Make a hole in the center of the pipe that will be small enough for the head of your hammer to rest on when inserted.
A New Bed for Your Best Friend
Don’t forget about your furry friend when creating DIY projects with your leftover PVC pipe. You can make a comfortable dog bed with just the pipe and some canvas or soft material of any kind.
Connect the pipes to create a raised platform. You can then fit the material onto the platform, giving your best friend a comfortable spot to sleep off of the ground. This bed is ideal for indoor or outdoor spaces, as it won’t get wet or muddy. And the best part is that you can custom-make the bed based on the size of your pooch.
Organize Your Draws
With so many small and large bits and pieces lying around in your workshop, it’s very easy to leave your drawers in an unorganized mess. However, you can make life easier for yourself by creating draw organizers.
Simply cut a variety of PVC pipes in half so that you are left with a semi-circle cross-section. Place the half-tubes in your drawers and use them to store tools, drill bits, and anything else that generally just lies around.
Replace Your Broken Tool Handles
With the hard labor most tools are used for, it’s no surprise that you may have to replace a broken handle every now and again. In fact, it’s usually the first to go, as most of the pressure is applied there.
Before throwing away your broken tool, try using PVC pipe to create a new handle. Find a pipe that will fit into the top of the tool shaft. Then, just cut away any excess so that it fits comfortably in your hand.
PVC Pipes for Baseball Equipment
Sports supplies can be very difficult to store. With awkward and bulky shapes, they can leave your garage looking like a big mess. However, by just cutting a few notches into a PVC pipe, you can create the perfect organizational tool.
The pipes can also be used to store baseballs. Attach the piping to your garage wall to make the process of finding your playing equipment that much easier. It will also look neat, making your garage easier to navigate.
Cover Your Table Saw
Table saws are one of the most dangerous tools to leave unattended. With small children in the house, or even if you just spend a lot of time in your workshop, having your table saw uncovered could lead to a serious disaster.
Luckily, you can easily prevent this from happening by simply creating a cover with a bit of PVC pipe. Find a pipe that is large enough to cover the saw and cut it to create a dome that fits on top of the blade.
Create a Grease Gun Holster
If you’re a handyman, you are more than likely to have struggled with grease stains from one of your DIY projects. These are almost impossible to get out of and can completely ruin a surface. For this reason, grease guns are quite risky to work with.
A simple solution to using your grease gun and not making a massive mess? Make a grease gun holster out of PVC pipe. Be sure to make separate compartments for each part of the gun so that there are no leaks whatsoever.
Oversized Storage Cylinders
Just about everybody has a few household items that just seem too big and bulky to store. Whether it be tools, adapters, or important papers, this easy PVC hack will be sure to make your workshop a little bit more organized.
Their long shape makes the perfect storage solution. Simply screw a few pipes to your workshop wall and close off the bottom end. You can then insert whatever you are storing into the top for neat and hassle-free organization.
Nail and Screw Organizer
Nails and screws are often extremely tedious to store, as they are so small and can get lost easily. However, by cutting PVC pipes into small compartments, this will no longer be a problem!
Simply cut a pipe in half and add small pieces of wood in between to create the different sections. The size of the pipe is dependent on how many bits you have and how you wish to store them.
Overhead Garage Storage
Garages are often the messiest part of any home. With large pieces of equipment lying around, it can even be a challenge to simply walk around your garage without bumping into something. For additional storage, overhead shelving is the perfect solution.
By connecting PVC pipes to create beams and screwing them into the trusses of your ceiling, you can create completely functional and practical ‘shelves’. The pipes can be used to balance your ladder, pieces of wood, or any long objects on.
A Dowel Holder
Have a collection of spare dowels lying around your workshop? With just a blade, you can make a cutout in a PVC pipe to create a simple dowel holder. This will not only make your garage more organized, but it will also make the dowels easy to find when they are needed.
Cut out a large oval in the center of the PVC pipe – this will allow you to see what different shapes and size dowels there are for you to choose from. Screw the pipe into the wall, and you’re good to go!
A Small Tool Holder
Nobody likes a messy collection of tools. Having an organized tool holder will make the job that much easier. The best part? It’s extremely easy to do and will take no time at all using just PVC pipe.
Cut the pipes to form smaller cylinders and simply slide your tools into them. You may need a variety of sized pipes so that the handles of the tools don’t just fall through. Screw the pipes into place, and you’re good to go!
Create a Wrapping Paper Dispenser
Wrapping paper is useful for a variety of different projects. If you’re a keen DIYer, you’re likely to have a few rolls lying around the house. However, when wrapping bulky objects, the roll can be rather difficult to work with.
This is where the wrapping paper dispenser comes in. Create just one slit into the side of the PVC pipe, creating a C-shaped cross-section. Insert your roll with the end of the wrapping paper placed through the slit. Then, just attach the PVC pipe to your wall.
A Fishing Rod Organizer
There’s nothing worse than getting ready for a fishing trip and having to untangle all of your rods beforehand. It can take hours, depending on the size of your collection. This can be prevented by simply cutting a few handle-shaped holes into a PVC pipe.
Attach the PVC pipe to your wall and insert the rods into the holes. For additional support, attach a pool noodle above the pipe and cut out notches for the fishing rods to fit into.
Make Some Spare Spring Clamps
Spring clamps are actually very important pieces when it comes to many DIY projects. Many people actually forget to buy them because of how small and seemingly insignificant they are. However, you can make your own with just some PVC pipe.
Once you know what shape spring clamps you will need, simply cut the PVC pipe to match. With just one pipe, you can create hundreds of clamps, making it well worth the time, money, and effort.
Create a Rack For Your Pipe Clamps
Have a collection of pipe clamps lying around your house in case of an emergency? Create your very own rack in just a few minutes to get them out of the way until they are needed.
Cut some smaller PVC pipe into roughly 6-8 cm long tubes. Then, cut the tubes again to create a semi-circle cross-section. Simply screw these half-pipes onto a piece of wood and then onto your wall.
Organize Your Elastic Cords
Elastic cords can be especially difficult to store as they stretch and move around a lot. With just one section of PVC pipe, you can create a basic elastic cord storage system so that you won’t have to stuff them in a shoe or other weird places!
Make sure the pipe is long enough to stretch the cords into place when they are attached to either end. All you have to do then is attach the pipe to the wall – no cutting or complicated craftsmanship required!
Curling Iron Storage
This storage solution is more suited to practical, everyday use. Unsure of what to do with your curling iron and the long, bulky cable that usually comes with it? Create the perfect storage tube with PVC pipe, and worry no more!
Just cut the pipe so that the iron can be inserted. Additionally, cut out another small section for the cable. Screw these pipes into the inside of your cupboard door (or wherever you want to store your iron).
A Heavy-Object Transporter
Sick of moving heavy objects around your house or garden? One of the most common ways that people put their back out of place is by trying to lift heavy things by themselves. Instead of injuring yourself, just use some old PVC pipe.
Just like ancient societies used to do, you can roll the heavy object to where it needs to be by placing it on top of cut-out PVC tubes. Place a number of pipes in front of each other and simply push!
A Drill Organizer
Have an impressive collection of drills lying around? PVC pipes come in a wide variety of sizes and lengths, making them the perfect material to store your drills. Simply cut a notch into the pipe so that the drill can be inserted.
The notch should be small enough that the drill rests along the rim without falling through. However, it must also be big enough that the handle can slide through. Attach the pipe to the bottom of a shelf for ideal storage.
Create Hidden Storage For Your Valuables
Some objects you don’t want to be stored in plain sight. You don’t need a big, bulky safe in order to keep your valuables secure. Pipes can be a great option when it comes to being able to access your goods easily while still keeping them hidden.
Attach a PVC pipe along your wall so that it looks completely functional, using a pipe seal to block off one end. This seal is easy to take off when needed in order to insert or remove your valuables from the pipe.
The Perfect Towel Rack
If you loved our clothing rack hack, you should definitely look into this towel rack. During the summertime, you will no doubt have wet towels that need drying. Don’t want them taking up space on the washing line?
Simply use PVC pipe to create a stand with as many racks as you need. This DIY project is easy, cheap, and can be a fun project for you and your kids over the summer. We call it a towel rack, but it can be used for just about anything!
An Extended Vacuum Pipe
Have a few hard-to-reach places around your house? Instead of struggling to clean these areas with your vacuum and ladder, you can make an extended pipe with PVC pipes. It’s easy, extremely helpful, and much safer!
This hack is perfect for cobwebs or dust on the ceiling. Just attach a PVC pipe to the end of your vacuum. However, you obviously need to make sure that the PVC pipe is only slightly bigger than your current vacuum pipe.
Create a New Table
If you want a new table for your home, all you need is some spare PVC pipe and wooden planks. It will be a rather rustic-looking design, but you won’t need anything more for a workshop or garden table.
Use the PVC pipes to create the legs of your table. The different PVC connections can be used to make it as stable as possible. Screw the wooden planks into the top of the PVC pipe, and you will have a perfectly functioning table.
Organize Your Caulk Cubes
Every handyman loves caulk. It is one of the most useful tools to have available if you have any joints or crevices that need sealing. With that being said, they can be tricky to store once they have already been used. With long pointers (that usually don’t come with lids), caulk cubes are a great solution.
Cut the PVC pipe so that the caulk canisters can be inserted. You can glue or screw a couple of pipes together to create a single storage compartment, or you can simply leave the individual pipes on the shelf for future use.
40+ Awful Parenting Life Hacks That No One Should Try
Guide to Getting Chores Done
Even adults struggle to get chores done from time to time; it’s no surprise that kids don’t find it a party either. However, living with lazy kids isn’t an ideal situation. You would obviously want them to help around the house.
It’s the method by which parents are getting their kids to do chores that concerns us. A kid was sure that their mother was making up rules. There was no way a portal would open up and abduct them if they didn’t do their chores. Unless…
The Occasional Hiding
Parents, we will give you a moment of relief. No, you shouldn’t feel guilty about hiding out in the closet from time to time to escape your chaotic family. You shouldn’t feel bad about sneakily eating a chocolate bar. You deserve to have a life!
If you want to eat snacks without your kids asking for a bite, you get to do it. Of course, you wouldn’t be able to get it done the easy way out. They’re kids — being needy is kind of their thing. You improvise. Lettuce ftw!
Unique Solutions 101
It’s normal for households to have a limit on screen time. No parents would want their kids’ eyes stuck to their laptops, phones, or tablets the entire day. This is a dangerous territory to tread. Your kids might hit you with the “I’m bored. What should I do?”
You could answer vaguely with something along the lines of “go do your homework” or “play outside.” Sometimes, though, it’s not enough. You have to let them get their way. Or, you can add a twist to it. Let them read from the TV, not watch.
Controlling the Swing
We understand the thought and mechanism behind this hack, but similar to most others on the list, it’s neither functional nor safe. Kids deserve their parents’ attention. We think your beverage can wait.
If you absolutely need to rest at any moment, simply spend time with your kids later. Multitasking is a great job, but only when it’s done properly. We can think of so many things that could go wrong in this picture, ultimately injuring the child.
Trusty Get-Along Shirt
Having two kids in the house who cannot seem to get along is nothing short of a nightmare for the parents. Generally, these bickerings are a part of growing up and you can expect kids to gel better as they grow up. Well, when your kids’ fighting and screaming is getting to you, you need a solution.
There’s the old ‘lock them in a room until they resolve the conflict’ technique, there’s the “learn to share” approach, and then there’s this. We don’t think this serves anything more than a few laughs.
A Lesson Taught
The father must have worn that outfit for humor purposes, aside from attempting to teach his daughter a “lesson.” There’s nothing wrong with being protective of your children, especially your daughters.
Growing up and seeing them explore their individual fashion may not be a comfortable experience for parents; they don’t want to see their daughter in revealing clothes. However, there has got to be better ways than public shaming. The daughter will certainly not feel as free to share her opinions with her father anymore.
Practicing for a Pet
Getting a pet can be a life-changing experience. Suddenly, you have another living being to care for, but not everybody is capable of handling a pet. After all, they’re living beings that require the same basic needs as us.
Come to think of it, it’s kind of similar to having a child. A Redditor came to the conclusion that the best way to know if you’re ready for a pet is having a child to practice on. If you’re not messing up with the baby, chances are that you won’t mess up with the pet.
Weak Cardboard Slide
While this idea does have the potential to be fun, we doubt any sane parent would want to try this out twice. Yes, it’s entertainment in a pinch, but is it safe? The only time you would try this slide is the very first occasion and then you would know better!
In case you didn’t notice, cardboard isn’t the most resistant material on the planet. So, with that, we don’t think it’s strong enough to hold a 45-pound child. Here’s a better (and safer) idea — take your child to the park.
Mow the Lawn
One of the more labor-intensive tasks you’ll do as an adult with a house that has a backyard is mowing the lawn. By the time you’re done, you’re drenched in sweat and can’t bother to work for the next six hours. While there are professional lawn mowers who could take care of your landscaping needs, why bother spending money on them?
You could come up with something better. A landscaper ready for service 24/7/365. Steps to mowing the lawn — have a child, and make the child mow the lawn.
Actions Have Consequences
Children’s birthday parties seem somewhat incomplete without a pinata. The unadulterated happiness of popping open the four-legged animal and a shower of candy hitting the ground is amazing. If you really think about it, this act promotes violence.
You’re teaching kids that hitting an animal on the stomach gives you treats. Preposterous! Teach them the brutal consequences of violence — stuff a pinata with goat intestines so they get light gore instead of sugary treats. They’ll never harm an animal again.
I’ll Be Leaving Now
Before we get into this one, we would like to say that only cowards abandon their families. With that said, if you’re actually planning on walking out on your family (again — you shouldn’t), don’t do the generic, “I’m going out to get some milk.”
That’s just uncreative and boring. Instead, do the viral magic trick where you drop a towel and run away at the speed of lightning. Your family will be led to believe you passed away in an unfortunate magic trick failure. What a way to depart!
Candies for the Parents
Parents, we know that you feel bad about secretly eating that last bar of candy. Don’t! Just because you had kids doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your favorite treats. Granted, with kids, eating chocolates or snacks is a hassle because the critters always want a share.
For days when you don’t feel like sharing, consider grabbing a snack when you’re outside. Or, keep a secret stash in the freezer by disguising the treats as vegetables. Hiding them in plain sight might not be the best idea.
Differentiating Between Twins
We don’t feel as bad about mixing up twins anymore. Turns out, sometimes even parents struggle to tell them apart. This mainly happens when they’re babies as they’re still developing distinct facial and bodily features.
If you have twins yourself or know people who do, this is the hack to go by. Shave the babies’ heads. Trust us! Shave their head in a way that the hairs form the digits one and two. This way, you’ll never lose track of who’s who. This hack can work for triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets, and more.
Human Dust Mop
This hack went viral a few months ago. A clever father found a way to put his baby to work as he crawls through the house — he turned his baby into a human mop. The onesie has little cleaning spikes around the arms and legs, so the baby can clean the floors as he makes his way around.
You’re essentially saving yourself the hassle of mopping or dusting the house. Beware, though! You might get some judgy looks. People don’t like seeing toddlers cleaning the house in a weird spandex costume.
Too Hot
This is one of those hacks that looks enjoyable at first but is way too impractical to last. Are those corndogs too hot for the kids? Well, they can be cooled if left in the AC vent for a few minutes but we don’t do that here.
No. This mom stuck her kids’ corndogs inside the AC vents of her car. While this actually solves the issue quite well, it’s not the most functional. The entire car would end up smelling like corndogs, and not in a good way.
The Perfect Family Picture
People go to great lengths to snap the perfect family picture. These days, there are all kinds of photoshoots you can sign your family up for — like the newborn baby/parents shoot. We’re assuming this couple was trying to take a very “fun and hip photo.”
As they were walking on the sandy beach, the husband and wife were swinging their kids from both sides. The children are pretty young, so this was already dangerous in and of itself. One of the kids went flying. The rest is history.
Ready for a Ride?
You look at one of these pictures and your mind instantly goes, “Ah, the moment before disaster struck.” If that’s not your initial response, you haven’t watched enough fail videos on YouTube or Facebook.
We understand the father was trying to entertain his kids, but there has got to be safer ways for that. When the request is, “Let us sit on a mattress that you will then attach to the back of your ATV bike and then stow us away,” you definitely shouldn’t comply.
Dads Can Multitask Too
There’s no denying that mothers are magicians; they can multitask flawlessly. Fathers, on the other hand, aren’t naturally gifted in this area but they can certainly learn. Some dads are super dedicated and do their best to be an active part of their child’s life.
Here’s what to do when you’re a father that has to get some PlayStation time in but also feed your baby simultaneously. This dad solved the problem by balancing the bottle using his chin. Killing two birds with one stone, and that’s multitasking at its finest!
No Need for Cart
Taking your baby shopping? If they’re in a stroller, you’ll love this hack. It’s convenient and saves you the hassle of pushing around two carts. For parents who have pushed the stroller while having to also push the supermarket cart, this one’s for you!
This father wants to let you know that your days of stress are over. Why bother getting a second cart when you have a perfectly good one already? Your kid can handle a few paper boxes — no big deal!
Fixing Kid’s Hyperactivity
There are two sides to the coin of having a hyperactive kid. Number one — you won’t have to tell them to go outside and soak in the sun, as they won’t ever complain to you about being bored. And number two is the fact that they’ll drive you nuts! With overwhelming bursts of energy popping throughout the day, hyperactive kids are a confirmed handful.
A true smartypants knows how to channel that energy into a good thing. For instance, letting your kid push a trolly that’s 10 times her size. She’s not necessarily getting very far but it’s certainly draining her. Let her knock herself out.
Take the Picture!
In a world where everyone is fascinated only by their phone screens and social media, photographs are a key part of the experience. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that people could be experiencing an earthquake and they’d still have the capacity to video it for entertainment purposes.
You can find multiple examples of popular video-sharing apps. When this kid was getting chewed on by a camel, his parents knew what they had to do. No — not rescue the kid but rather, take a picture of it. They probably even framed it later on.
Fathers: Multitasking Geniuses
We’re convinced fathers have this multitasking thing figured out. They’ll do something you could never imagine without even breaking a sweat. A dad on the internet had to lull his baby to sleep.
As we can see from the photo, the child is no more than a few months old. Its head perfectly fits the palm papa bear’s hands. Use your child as a surface to eat your cake as he or she falls asleep. Cake is life, after all.
Like a Wrecking Ball
Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” is the first thing that popped into our minds when we saw this. The father had good intentions, we’ll give him that, but we do have to question his common sense. No offense. How did he think this would end up?
His daughter, who was comfortably seated on his back, flew off her father’s shoulders and landed face down into the pit. Thankfully, it was a pit full of foam so she didn’t sustain any injuries. There’s so much chaotic energy radiating off this one image — it’s a little concerning.
Clean it Up
Gone are the days when we used tissue paper or baby wipes to clean stuff off our kids. You don’t need those things anymore, especially if the spilled item is a condiment! This dad created quite a mess while digging into his burger.
A mixture of ketchup painted the baby’s face. And while the man could have whipped out a napkin for easy cleanup, he decided to lick it away instead. After all, that would just be a waste of sauce, wouldn’t it?
Plunging Along
Is your kid being a nuisance at the grocery store? Running about, bothering people, not letting you get the things you need? Keep a tab on your child at all times. Literally. Behold! The plunger! Thanks to their great suctioning power, these bathroom tools can hold onto anything for dear life.
Are we starting to connect the dots? Stick it onto your child’s back and carry them around like a little bag. Your kid might get a kick out of this as well. We’re not sure about the safety aspect of it, though.
The New Mousepad
We’ve noticed that the majority of these horrible hacks have originated because fathers wanted a convenient shortcut. Men, we’re sorry, but it doesn’t seem like your plan is working out.
This nifty hack isn’t a safety hazard, so you could perform this without worrying about injuring your child. We can see an adorable toddler trying to crawl around the bed as his father works away on his laptop. To make sure his baby is within his reach, he uses his back as a mousepad. Genius!
Game of Catch
For your and your child’s personal safety, please refrain from replicating this act at all times. The couple in this picture appears to be a pair of seasoned hikers. They may have mastered the art of climbing, but parenthood is something they are yet to learn.
Standing on the edge of a boulder, the lady throws the child to her husband who’s standing right across from her with open arms. Even if this was a success, we doubt Social Services would approve of this.
Feed the Raccoon
Have you ever had this indescribable sensation where you just want to pet the raccoon in your dumpster? You know it’s a horrible idea. Commonly nicknamed “trash pandas” by the internet, raccoons are furry little critters that are rather aggressive if threatened.
This family doesn’t have a care in the world. They’re letting their kid feed the raccoon. We could’ve let this slide had the father not decided to hang his child upside down in the process. Seriously, why?
Gaslighting
In life, it’s good to have your priorities set — even if that upsets some people. You don’t have to care about what people think of you, even if you buckle in a can of gas better than you do your own child.
Gas is pricey — you wouldn’t want to lose it. However, we don’t think it’s necessary to buckle it into a booster seat, especially if your child is still required to sit in it.
Cracking Jokes
This doesn’t qualify as a horrible parenting life hack, in comparison to some that we’ve seen. It’s great for Halloween or if you want to scare the neighbors into thinking you have a demon baby.
The drawn-on eyebrows have a very sharp edge towards the end. That plus the baby’s wide grin really takes away from the cuteness of the child. In fact, this is what we imagine when we think of Disney’s Maleficent as a baby.
Joke Gone Wrong
The things you do to make your kids laugh! Dress up all funny, let them think they “fooled” you, and more. Here’s a father’s attempt at making his child laugh — but it’s gone very wrong. In the kid’s defense, that’s a very weird horse costume. At second glance, it’s even quite terrifying.
Not to mention how disproportionate it looks on the dad’s head. The kid had all the right to assume an odd creature engulfed his dad. Must have taken a lot of effort to calm him down afterward.
DIY Barbie and More
Kids will sit for hours combing Barbie’s hair and fixing her appearance. There’s one other thing they love doing. They love popping the heads off the Barbie dolls! Not only that, but then they have the audacity to throw a tantrum because their toy “somehow” broke.
Well, creative mothers wouldn’t just let a perfectly fine Barbie go to waste like that. All they need is a black marker and they can turn the headless Barbie into a masterpiece… of sorts.
Guide to the Perfect Ponytail
We bet a father came up with this innovative approach in order to create the perfect ponytail. He probably wasn’t fully equipped to handle his daughter’s luscious hair, and mom wasn’t there to help.
We want to know what was going through this dad’s head when he tried this hack for the first time. We guess this could work — or, ya know, it could suction off your kid’s hair.
The Floating Hand
Tired parents would love for their kids to sleep through the entire night without causing a screaming ruckus. We understand, but there are multiple things that could go wrong with this “hack.” The hack asks you to fill up a glove with rice or beans, pat your baby with it a few times, place it on them, and walk away.
Even in the best-case scenario, we can expect the child to grow up with an unhealthy hand obsession. Plus, how do you compare human touch to a bean-filled glove?
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo
One of the best ways to spend quality time with your kids is by helping them with their arts and crafts projects. This helps develop their creative side. That being said, not all kids are creatively gifted. They will make horrendous crafts, show them off at school, and then insist you display them at home.
Parenting hack — bribe your kid’s teacher and all their crafts will “magically” disappear post-grading. If your kid ever finds out, they would hate you for it. But hey, your home aesthetics would still be intact!
Toy Story Gone Wrong
Toys can be expensive. Parents often try to fix their children’s toys to avoid having to spend more money on other toys. For those toys that you simply can’t bother fixing fully, we know what you can do.
This won’t put you at the center of suspicion, and it’ll get the work done as well. “Half-broken” toys can be fixed so they no longer look broken at all. Okay, well, they may look slightly off but it’s still an easy solution that your kid won’t (hopefully) hate.
Boss-Level Metal Dad
Before everything, major props to this dad for trying something so… risky. That’s the word we’re looking for. Although this little metalhead is sitting on his father’s back, papa bear is obviously still concerned for his safety.
What to do when you’re at a concert and watching your favorite artists perform, but you still have to babysit? Think fast! This father got creative and “strapped” his child onto his back using his dreadlocks. And while we’ll admit that it’s a clever enough idea, we don’t recommend this hack.
Stroller and Scooter
There’s no shame in admitting that we all procrastinate at times. Or, if you’re like us, you procrastinate a lot. Parents have very little time for themselves. This compels them to eat junk food or skip out on their workout. This is when they start coming up with innovative ideas to make up for their lack of exercise.
Although the stroller-scooter looks fun, it’s simply dangerous. There’s no space to store the baby’s necessities and your child could go flying off the stroller at any given moment. 10/10 would not recommend.
When it comes to your DIY projects, there are plenty of useful materials that you could use. PVC pipe may not be the first thing that comes to mind, but it can actually be used to create a number of useful household items or even repair any damaged ones that you already have. Let’s have a look at a few easy and practical PVC hacks that you can use around your home and garden!
