Life is short, and for parents with young kids, each day is shorter! With a toddler in tow, even finishing your daily household chores in time can be a huge challenge. Throw in your regular gym schedule or workout routine, it will seem laughably impossible! But not necessarily! It’s still possible to continue with your fitness goals without compromising your duties as a stellar parent. You just need to figure out the way to do it cleverly and creatively. Here are a few tricks of the trade to rescue you!
Sneak in Extra Movements
You might think that all this is easier said than done. But it’s actually not! Even with a baby included in your daily schedule, you can squeeze in some extra movements throughout the day. Don’t just stand and brush your teeth, do squats instead. After dinner, go for a nighttime walk with your family members, at least 3-4 nights a week. Walk whenever you can, and park your car further away from the destination, whenever you are driving. These little steps will do a lot to gradually reach your fitness goals.
Use a Jogging Stroller
Jogging Strollers are great accessories with 2-in-1 benefits! So, utilize that wisely. In the evening, instead of taking that tempting nap, load up your little ones in a jogging stroller. Tuck them in there tightly, and head outside the house for some fresh air. A jogging stroller, loaded down with one or two young kids, can get pretty heavy after a few rounds. This makes it a highly useful workout for you, and a much needed change of scenery for your kids. You won’t find a better cardio workout around!
Go for a Dance Party
This is a more fun way to break a sweat, baby or no baby! Both you and your kids love to spend time with each other, right? So, use the opportunity, turn on some snappy music, and dance together like no one’s watching! For some extra resistance, hold your toddler while you dance! Just be careful there! After a few songs, you’ll be drenched in sweat, refreshed by mood, and delighted after having the time of your life.
